We kept Miss M's room really simple with white paint and a cute border, then I painted smiley cartoons of myself, Mr B and Miss E above her cot so we were all watching over her.

Her bed is there now (she's two) and she often talks about the pictures.

Miss E and I also painted a dog, a cat, and a little island covered in zoo animals from her border. It was a really nice way for Miss E to help prepare for the arrival of her new baby sister.

We painted a huge rainbow, rolling hills and blue sky on Aprillia's wall. She added in flowers (made with hama beads) and drew birds on the sky

Recently we added a play tent to the room which is a big hit.

My main bedroom tip would be to keep it as clutter free as possible. I know it's a well repeated theme but they can't play with more than a couple of toys at once so why pile the room up with them? Less stuff = more play space.

Hi Erica,

It has taken some time for my four year old daughter to enjoy sleeping in her own bedroom. To encourage her to go in there at night and stay in there I've made it as attractive to her as possible.

Her room is pink and I've decorated the walls with gorgeous Disney Princess stickers, purposely designed for decorating bedrooms, from B&Q. You just stick them on and they can be removed by heating them with a hairdryer when she grows out of the Disney phase. Perfect!

I've also made a collage of photos of all her family members and put it in a plastic frame which also hangs on the wall.
